Put Your Phone Down, Look with Both Eyes is a handwritten phrase by David Hockney, created for his 2026 solo exhibition at Serpentine. The work reflects Hockney's sustained belief that deep, attentive looking — with both eyes — produces depth, movement, and spatial awareness, and remains a form of agency in itself. The phrase also connects to his longstanding use of mirrors throughout his practice, which resist fixed perspective and place the viewer within the scene.

This trinket tray is handcrafted by Duchess China 1888 in fine bone china, printed with Hockney's handwritten text. Dimensions: 19.5 x 15 x 3 cm.
