Pavilion Drawings, 2023
Unique watercolours 2 x sets of 12
Edition of 24 unique watercolours
£500 incl. VAT
For Ghotmeh’s edition which is being released in conjunction with the pavilion, she has completed 12 interlinked watercolours which show Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park from a birds eye view. From this vantage point Ghotmeh has envisioned and illustrated the striking roof of the pavilion repeated in multiple locations in the park, as well as painting its real location next to the South Gallery. These editions are unique watercolours, which can be purchased individually or as a set which would correspond to one another. You are able to see the South Gallery from above, as well as trees and paths through the parks. These unique paintings sit between artistic imaginings, and architectural drawings making for a beautiful piece of artwork.
Lina Ghotmeh (b.1980, Beirut, Lebanon) leads her practice Lina Ghotmeh — Architecture in Paris, France and carries her works in the world at the crossroad of Art, Architecture & Design. Echoing her lived experience of Beirut – a palimpsest of unrest – her designs are orchestrated as an ‘Archeology of the Future’ where every project emerges in complete symbiosis with nature following a thorough historical and materially sensitive research investigation.
All proceeds directly support Serpentine's multiple strands of programming and most importantly during this time, the delivery of our civic engagement projects.
