Edition of 100
Hand signed and numbered by the artist
David Tremlett (born 1945, St Austell, Cornwall) is best known for his wall drawings, most of which are temporary, and for conceptual works which are fragile and unconventional. He has also made large drawings on paper, expressing his response to a particular place or to something he has seen. Tremlett is internationally renowned, and was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 1992.
This print (from an edition of 100) was published by the Serpentine Gallery on the occasion of Tremlett's solo exhibition in 1989. The truncated image of the central letters from the word 'Abyssinia' demonstrates a use of word as image that is characteristic of conceptual art. This print was the first ever limited edition release by Serpentine.
All proceeds directly support the Serpentine's multiple strands of programming and most importantly during this time, the delivery of our civic engagement projects.
By purchasing Serpentine Gallery Limited Editions you are agreeing to these terms and conditions of sale.
