This book, designed by Herman Lelie and Stefania Bonelli, is an abridged reprint of the book Lee Ufan: The Art of Encounter published by Walther Koenig and the Lisson Gallery in 2004. It is released on the occasion of Ufan’s presentation in Kensington Gardens, hosted by the Serpentine Galleries (6 February – 27 January 2019). Lee Ufan: The Art of Encounter features an introduction by Jean Fisher alongside a collection of writings spanning from 1967 to 2007, with topics ranging from the notion of emptiness to the use of the brush. The new edition of this volume includes a previously unpublished interview between Ufan and Hans Ulrich Obrist.
