This publication is produced to accompany Kerstin Brätsch and Adele Röder’s first major exhibition in a UK public institution. It is the first monographic book to focus on the work of DAS INSTITUT and has been designed by the artists together with Studio Marie Lusa as a codex, containing reference images, documentation of artworks and collages that together give an insight into the dialogue that takes place between the artists in the construction of their works.

The publication also includes a foreword by Serpentine Galleries Co-Directors Julia Peyton-Jones and Hans Ulrich Obrist and an introductory essay to DAS INSTITUT’s work and to the themes of the exhibition by the exhibition’s curator Rebecca Lewin.

Famed filmmaker and author Alejandro Jodorowsky, participated in a conversation with DAS INSTITUT and conducted a tarot reading for both artists. Psychologist Professor Friedrich Heubach has written an insightful response to this tarot reading. The publication also includes a conversation with renowned German author and filmmaker Alexander Kluge, which discusses the artists’ individual practices as well as the way in which they have developed their collaborative project.
