Virtual Festival

In spring 2021, the Serpentine Galleries will present a major survey of 91-year old, British-Ghanaian photographer James Barnor, whose career spans six decades and two continents through his prolific studio portraiture, photojournalism, editorial commissions and wider social commentary.  This festival will be themed on James’ passions of  music and intergenerational exchange. We see this event as a prelude to the show,  offering our audiences a preview of Barnor's extraordinary archive of works and a glimpse of the dynamic programme of activities planned during its run.
